The goal of the human genome project is to identify the approximate 30,000 genes in human DNA, which determines the sequence of the three billion chemical base pairs that makeup human DNA and store this information in the bases.

The results of the project shows it is possible to understand and modulate the genetic causes of disease and cure the disease altogether. they have about 20000-25000 genes in human genome, and each of these has the [possibility of being a disease if it has an error in its DNA sequence. It also sequenced the genome of many other model organisms including mouse, afruitfly and aroundworm.
