Studies attempting to under- stand how disordered eating is perceived by young women have exposed participants to fictional vignettes that describe characters exhibiting eating pathologies, and assessed beliefs about the women's issues. These studies have informed our understanding of how young women perceive disordered eating in other women, but do not address the question of how disordered eating is perceived in oneself. In the present study, we randomly assigned 204 young women lages 18-25 years) to one of two conditions (self or other). In each condition, participants read a hypothetical vign- ette in which the main character (the participant herself (self) or another female student (other exhibited disordered eating, and answered questions about her behavior and her need for help. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlations, chi square tests, multiple regression analyses, multinomial logistic regressions, and indepen- dent samples t-tests. Overall, results supported the existence of a broad discrepancy in how young women perceive disordered eat- ing in themselves versus in other women. Specifically, relative to women who read the vignette about another individual, women who read the vignette about themselves were more likely to attribute their behavior to a general mental health issue (as opposed to an eating disorder); to believe that they were able to cope with their problem alone, and to believe that they did not need to seek help for their eating behaviors (despite perceiving fewer barriers to doing so). These findings highlight the need for empirical research to consider this self other discrepancy when using findings to inform the development of disordered eating prevention and intervention programs; if not considered, we risk developing programs based on information that may not accu- rately represent the young women in need of services. INTRODUCTION

The present research paper attempted to summarize the perception on eating disorder and help seeking in young women. according to author most of the studies have shown that how young women percieve other women suffering from diaorder but do not focus on how disordered is percieved in oneself. The present study attempted to find the difference that how one percive oneslef and other disordered eating.It is a great area to research on and one can get a large number of literature review articles as it is extensively researched topic but the author has not mentioned as much required literature review as required which could have given a rich look to the paper
METHOD
if we look at the sample, the researcher has not mentioned the sampling technique used but overall the researcher has tried to cover diversity in the research.
The sample size could have been increased. Instead of taking a sample from only one university, other universities should hve bwwn considered
The design of the research is appriciable as vignette research is a lesa threatening way yo explore sensitive topics like eating disorders

RESULTS
The descriptive measures and parametric measures are used. The results are extensively discussed and calculated which is a strong point in a research.
The results would have been better if the researcher would have considered the people actually suffering from the eating disorders.
A comparitive stusy could have been used to see the difference between between women who are actually suffering and the women who are normal.
A correction between satisfaction with life, self image scale and perception of eating could have been used to validate the results and hypothesis.
