Answer #1

Molar mass of BaCrO4 = 233.39g/mol

Molar mass of Cr = 52.00g/mol

Conversion factor of BaCrO4 to Ba = 52.00g/233.39g = 0.2228

mass of Cr in BaCrO4 precipitate = 0.2228× 0.145g = 0.032306g

mass of Cr in 250ml Cr2O72- solution = (0.032306g/10ml)×250ml = 0.8077g

mass of the steel sample = 3.90g

% of Cr in the steel sample = (0.8077g/3.90g)×100

% of Cr in the steel sample = 20.71%
