Briefly describe an infectious disease and how it affects a human host.
Infectious disease caused by microorganisms that invade tissues. It is caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites. Many organisms live in and on our bodies. They are normally harmless or even helpful .The disease can be spread directly or indirectly. Some infectious disease can be passed from person to person. Malaria, dengue , tuberculosis are some example of infectious disease.
Some bacteria, fungi and other microbes enter your body and begin to multiply. Bacteria multiply so rapidly they crowd out host tissues and disrupt normal function . Sometimes they kill cells and tissues outright.

There are many ways that an environmental infectious disease can be transmitted to a host. Describe the differences between vectorborne diseases and zoonotic diseases. What type of infectious disease is associated with each of these categories?

Using SARS-CoV as a specific example, describe how epidemiologists can track infections during an epidemic by a) measuring antibody levels (seroconversion) and b) using PCR methods. 4b. During the course of a single infection, which method will detect SARS-CoV earliest? Explain why. 5.
