Answer #1

Four ways of learning to make small groups successful are providing goals and objectives to the group members and help them in planning with defining their roles and responsibilities. Evaluating the group behaviour through various methods like feedback, external observation and analysis of roles of group members can help in finding ways to make small groups successful. Small groups can be successful by finding shared practices and norms, communication and information sharing on the group patterns for more effectiveness. Understanding the role of rewards and recognition in groups and individual behaviour for better performance can help in learning to make small groups successful.

The effectiveness of rating scales use is to evaluate the team performance, collect feedback and understanding of the team members. Effectiveness of rating scales depend on the questions and topics they are based upon. Different rating scales can be used based on the expected responses accuracy or in the defined range. It provides a measure to understand the group behaviour, provide feedback and understand the group performance on specific issues.

Evaluation of verbal interaction and content analysis is to identify the ways in which the group members communicate with each other, the ways they address other group members and the frequency of interaction. The content analysis is to understand the kind of information exchanged in communication to understand the participation, leadership behaviour and understanding of individual behaviour.
