You have isolated your acidic compound by suction filtration, and suspect that it is still wet. What can you do to remove the remaining water without the risk of decomposition (i.e no extreme heating)? Include all necessary steps.

There are various process that can be use to remove trace of water from residue.

  • You can use drying agent like Magnisium sulphate, Calcium chloride to absorb moisture form residue.
  • Also you can recrystallise it by dissolving it in organic solvent having low boiling point and then re evaporation.
