Vaccination strategies are specific to the disease for which the vaccine is being administererd. The basic strategy for vaccination is to make people aware of the disease and make proper infrastructure and providing training to people so that they take the vaccine and also help vaccinating others. This needs communication strategies, planning, execution and monitoring. For Example, the combined elimination strategy for rubella and measles. Mass vaccination campaigns were conducted from the year 2003 to 2009 which achieved 94% coverage in North and South America for the first dose of vaccine. During supplementary dose immunisation more than 400 million unvaccinated people were targeted for vaccination. This helped in the elimination of the diseases rubella and measles disease in major portion of the population. So, Combined vaccination strategy with universal approach was proven to be more beneficial than the normal local approach.
