In an episode of “The Sopranos” television series, fictional mobster Tony Soprano murdered one of his associates. To make identification of the victim’s body difficult, Soprano and one of his henchmen dismembered the body and dumped the body parts.
A few months later, two real-life half brothers in Riverside, California, strangled their mother and then cut her head and hands from her body. Victor Bautista, 20, and Matthew Montejo, 15, were caught by police after a security guard noticed that the bundle they were attempting to throw in a dumpster had a foot sticking out of it. They told police that the plan to dismember their mother was inspired by “The Sopranos” episode (Martelle, Hanley, & Yoshino, 2003).
Please answer the following questions for this week's assignment:
Should these types of television shows be allowed?
I think violent television shows or movies should not be allowed because it has adverse impact on human mind and get negatively affect the society.
In many cases it's been found that a teenager from small age start thinking violently and aggressively, if they watch violent and aggressive serials. They try to copy those acts in their actual life because the children consider the characters as their hero and realte those things with their personal life. It is necessary to either prohibit or restricted to some extent so that it's negative impacts can be eliminated. It is also necessary for parents to pat attention towards the act of their childrens. Instead of showing violent or thriller serials, it would be good they telecast some education related programs where basic etiquettes can be reached to the child and the society.
