The Spanish Empire established the religious Catholic endeavours in the various regions during the fourteenth to eighteenth centuries.

Hispanisicing the indegeneous people has been one of the chief functions in this context.

Juan De Onate pionieered/ initiated with Mission San Gabriel in 1598.

Mission San Esteban del Rey de Acoma, Mission Nuestra Señora de los Angeles de Porciuncula de los Pecos, Mission San Agustin de la Isleta, San Miguel Mission etc were the foremost missions in Mexico.

Many missions were damaged and degenerated during the Pubelo revolts. Gradually, they were modified and repaired.

The native people were mostly persuaded to accept and go for christianity through the mission efforts.

The architecture mechanisms were stirred through missions constructions.

The contact of the missionaries turned into the arrival of the new diseases among the native people.

Farming, cattle keeping were also iinfluenced through the mission.
