Discuss the relationship between memory and learning, exploring whether one process disproportionately affects the other or if these two processes have reciprocal influences on each other. Share a few methods or techniques that might be applied to enhance or improve the affected process or processes in this relationship, ultimately resulting in better memory or improved learning capabilities.

Learning and memory have reciprocal relationship with each other. Both are interdependent cognitive functions. Memory is an essential factor for learning something and a better learning capacity influence a persons ability to memorise something. Learning is the permanent change in behaviour which is acquired through training. Memory is acquired through encoding, storage and retrieval. Learning is the modification of a particular behaviour while memory is the ability to remember the modified behaviour or the past experiences .Memory is the consolidated form or the collection of all the records of learned material. So memory depends largely on learning.

Many factors contribute to the effective functioning of these two cognitive processes. Brain is continuously involved in the processing of information .The active processing of information takes place during sleep. If adequate amount of sleep is not available it will lead to weakening of both of these processes. Apart from this listening top music can also enhance memory and learning. Following are the ways to enhance the capacity to learn

• Rearranging the the place of learning and the materials to be learned
• Practice spaced learning.
• Make use of self testing after a material is learned
• Adequate amount of rest or short breaks between learning is required
• Making short notes are always helpful.

Using of mnemonic devices can improve your memory. Memory can be enhanced by following ways

• Practicing brain exercises such as solving puzzles, memory games etc
• Follow a brain boosting diet
• Take proper exercise
• Practice certain tips to reduce stress and tensions
• Develop a good social interaction with friends
• Diagnose and treat all the physical issues
