When dealing with a client from low socioeconomic background we should focus of these few things. First of all talk to them like you talk to your friends, or anyone else, be normal and humble. Don’t try to offer charity, they might not have much money but they do have self-respect. Be humble, kind and approachable, so that they can share the details that you want to know for your work. Often time people from low socioeconomic background might say things to hide shame and often times they exaggerate things, so you have to find balance while talking to them. When it comes to addressing them, address them like you would a normal friend or person you know. If you approach with a positive attitude, then things will work out just fine. Be friendly and casual while chatting with them, ask about how they’re doing, how things are going, general stuff. Just know while talking if a point comes where you have to give advice or criticism, be constructive. This will help you build connection and trust. Once you built a rapport with them, people will communicate with you better and they would be more honest to you then and your work would be easy.
