Sharing bed with a mother is a common practice in many countries. Shared sleeping remains a controversial issue. What are the pros and cons? Explain your position on this issue and if you agree with shared sleeping, at what age if any would this become less appropriate and why?

Sharing bed with a mother as a baby has its own set of pros. A child is safe and secure near the mother. It sleeps soundly. Similarly a mother is less worried when the child is near her especially during illness, As the child grows up it needs more of physical space and a bed may not be sufficient for two. The child can exhibit a clingy behaviour outside.The mother loses the right to privacy and may need to adhere to the sleeping pattern and time set by the child.

Sharing a bed with a child is a very common phenomenon in most of the countries where there is lack of space. Some children share the bed with their parents till they move out of the house. Some culture allow and think it's necessary for mother child bonding. Though it would be appropriate to set an age limit for a child to share a bed.
