Visual Basic Language

Consider flags such as the United States and Honduras that have multiple stars of the same shape on them as opposed to Vietnam, which has only one. Rather than to draw each particular star, you wish to generalize that process so that you only have to write the code once, just changing the position of that star.  Write a subroutine that will both write and position the star.    In this instance, you can make the star any size you want, but you should define the coordinates in terms of the center. The subroutine should take as parameters the center of the star, thus each vertex of the star needs to be based on the center point. Note: as long as it is star-like, we are fine. Don’t fret so much on geometric perfection of it.  Make a five point star (just for clarification).

Paste your code here for just the subroutine.

The ACME Manufacturing Company has hired you to help automate their production assembly line. Cameras have been placed above a conveyer belt to enables parts on the belt to be photographed and analyzed. You are to augment the system that has been put in place by writing C code to detect the number of parts on the belt, and the positions of each object. The process by which you will do this is called Connected Component Labeling (CCL). These positions...

    1) Echo the input: First, you should make sure you can write a program and have it compile and run, take input and give output. So to start you should just echo the input. This means you should prompt the user for the plaintext, read it in and then print it back out, with a message such as "this is the plaintext you entered:". [4 points, for writing a working program, echoing the input and submitting the program on the...

One example of computer-aided design (CAD) is building geometric structures inter- actively. In Chapter 4, we will look at ways in which we can model geometric objects comprised of polygons. Here, we want to examine the interactive part. Let’s start by writing an application that will let the user specify a series of axis- aligned rectangles interactively. Each rectangle can be defined by two mouse positions at diagonally opposite corners. Consider the event listener canvas.addEventListener("mousedown", function() { gl.bindBuffer(gl.ARRAY_BUFFER, vBuffer); if...

The last 3 cases are tests .cpp files to test the code. The language of this code must be C++ because that is the only I am familiar with. Soreland, a software company, is planning on releasing its first C++ compiler with the hopes of putting MiniSoft's Visual C++ out of business (that reminds me of another story). Consequently, Soreland has contracted with the Fruugle Corporation to design and build part of their compiler. Of course, since Fruugle gets all...

In this assignment you’ll implement a data structure called a trie, which is used to answer queries regarding the characteristics of a text file (e.g., frequency of a given word). This write-up introduces the concept of a trie, specifies the API you’re expected to implement, and outlines submission instructions as well as the grading rubric. Please carefully read the entire write-up before you begin coding your submission. Tries A trie is an example of a tree data structure that compactly...

Consider a cylindrical capacitor like that shown in Fig. 24.6. Let d = rb − ra be the spacing between the inner and outer conductors. (a) Let the radii of the two conductors be only slightly different, so that d << ra. Show that the result derived in Example 24.4 (Section 24.1) for the capacitance of a cylindrical capacitor then reduces to Eq. (24.2), the equation for the capacitance of a parallel-plate capacitor, with A being the surface area of...
