This is a statistical problem.
There is a box containing 120 pieces of paper, only one piece of paper has a letter "A", and the other 119 pieces of paper have letters "B".
Then, let 120 students choose from the 120 pieces of paper. The question is: who is the biggest beneficiary? Thanks!
The biggest beneficiary is, of course, the one who is choosing the paper having letter "B" as the probability of getting paper having letter "B" is 119/120 and that of getting letter "A" is only 1/120. One thing to note here is that events are equally likely here i.e. probability of selecting a single piece of paper are equally likely so in case every student choosing one piece of paper without replacement logically no one is getting the benefit. But in case of replacement chance of choosing paper having letter "B" is very high.

Please submit the answer to this problem on a separate piece of paper, in submission box. A solid sphere, a solid disk, and a thin hoop are all released from rest at the top of the incline (ho = 20.0 cm). a) Without doing any calculations, decide which object would be spinning the fastest when it gets the bottom. Explain b) Again, without doing any calculations, decide which object would get to the bottom first. Hint: which one has greater...

This is a TYPE 1 Problem - Use a blank piece of paper for this problem...no other problems should be on that page. You will not get feedback about whether or not it is correct when you submit your result below. You do NOT have to copy the problem at the top. In a data study, students at a high school are studied to see if attendance for the year affects their academic success. For this scenario, answer the following questions: a) Determine the population of this study b) Create a suitable thesis question. c) Identify the variable(s). d) Would the data collected be qualitative or quantitative? Specify for each variable identified in part (c). e) Is the data discrete or continuous? Specify for each variable identified in part (c). f) Would...
Problem 2. We have 2 boxes, each containing 3 balls. Box number 1 contains one black and two white balls; box nber 2 contains two black and one white ba Our friend chooses one of the boxes at random, probability of choosing box number 1 is p. Then he takes one bal from a chosen box (each of three balls can be taken chosen equally likely), and it turns out to be white We are going to find MAP estimate...
(b) The Art department decided to order some painting sets. Each set contains one packet of paper and 3 coloring ink pens. Packets of paper normally have 20 sheets each, but 5% of packets are overfull and have more than 20 sheets of paper. In addition, each ink pen has a 2% chance of leaking during shipping Assume that the painting sets are packed one at a time into a shipping box, up to and including the first set with...
The Box Problem Take an 8% x 11 sheet of paper and cut out 4 congruent squares (one from each corner) as shown below on the left. This creates a net for an open-topped box (rectangular prism) which can be folded up as shown on the right. We're going to use our box to carry as many M & M's as possible. If the side-length of each cut-out square is 1 inch, then the box created will have dimensions 1...
A box is formed by cutting squares from the four corners of a sheet of paper and folding up the sides. a. Suppose the paper is 9"-wide by 12"-long, i. Estimate the maximum volume for this box? (Hint: Use your graphing calculator.) * cubic inches Preview ii. What cutout length produces the maximum volume? - inches Preview b. Suppose we instead create the box from a 7"-wide by 9"-long sheet of paper. i. Estimate the maximum volume for this box?...
Problem Statement In genetics, most large animals have two copies of every gene, one from each parent. In the simplest genetic model, each of the genes takes on one of two forms, usually represented by an uppercase and lowercase letter of the same value ('A' and 'a', for example). The pair of genes typically contributes to the external qualities of the animal in one of two ways. If both genes are uppercase, they contribute in one way, while if both...
