Insulin like growth factor is a type of receptor proteim that is found on the cell surface in human. This receptor is involved glucose metabolism and involved hormone called as IGF -1 and IGF-2. If this receptor will not work, it lead to the occurence of diseases like diabetes, heart disease. Other than these two disease, IGFR is involved in the disease like colitis and coleoractal cancer. The malfunctioning of IGFR is related with autophagy which is the process of self-destruction of own body that are removimg of unnecessary and dysfunctional cells. As, the IGFR is involved in the signal- transduction process, it lead to the causing of colitis . If this IGFR is overexpressed in mucosal layer along with muscular layer of colon , which is the final part of digestive tract , it lead to the causing of colectral cancer. Other than these two disease, IGFR is involve in causing other malignant tumor.
