Arsenic (As) is found in waters such as seawater, warm springs, groundwater, rivers, and lakes. Incwater,it exist in the form of arsenate and arsenite.
Continuous exposure to arsenate above levels 0.010 mg/L leads to bioaccumulation in the liver and kidney. It induces hyperglycemia
and it affects the species depending upon the nature of my species and time of exposure.
The effects include death, inhibition of growth, photosynthesis and reproduction, and behavioral effects.

For Example,in sea, when concentrations of arsenic are high in soil,it lead to accumulations anf thethe plants are not able to produce edible roots, leaves and fruits.

In animals It leads to chromosomal aberrations in vitro, affect methylation and repair of DNA, induce cell proliferation, transform cells and promote tumours.
