As the health and fitness director of a large corporate wellness program, you have been asked to provide data to your supervisor that supports the effectiveness of your program. The trend in the company has been to cut programs that do not “carry their weight.” The “bottom line” is important. In your review of the data related to your program, it is obvious that the data are not strong. However, in fairness to you, the program has been in operation for only two years, and it is too early to see the type of results management is looking for. You are the only one who has access to the data, and no one will know if the data you submit are accurate. How will you handle this situation? For this Discussion, review this scenario. Consider how the SOPHE code of ethics may apply to this scenario.

SOPHE : Society for public health education.

Code of ethics definition : these are written documents that clearly tells us what the acceptable and unacceptable behaviors are for the all employees in the organization.

SOPHE code of ethics : these will provide a basis of shared values that health education is practiced. In these responsibility of health educator to encourage ethical behavior who are working in an organization.

SOPHE has provided 4 principles and 6 articles.

Article I : Responsibility to the public.

Article ll : Responsibility to the profession.

Article ll : Responsibility to the employers.

Article lV : Responsibility in the delivery of health education.

Article V : Responsibility in the research and evaluation.

Article VI : Responsibility in the professional preparation.

For these scenario article ll, lll, lV, mostly applicable. Because it related to the health and fitness and its data, data analysis and evaluation will come under Research.

Role of health educator : Health education is very important.

Health education profession is dedicated to excellence in the practice of promoting individual, organizational,and community health.

Article l : responsibility to the profession :

* health education is a professional practice.

* so who are giving health education they only the professionals.

So they must responsible for their profession. Then only they can provide good health education.

Responsibility example : punctuality, impressable, impartial, competent enough, professional knowledge, completing the things which are started.

Article lV : Responsibility in delivery of health education :

* access needs and resources and capacity to the health education with out these will not provide health education.

* planning must be there next implementation and evaluation.

* provide health education regarding integrity and working capacity.  

* by the health education employees can meet the highest possible standerds and improve their ethical behavior.
