Identify the major factors that have resulted in the shift in utilization from inpatient hospitalization to ambulatory care services. What are the implications of this shift for hospitals, consumers, and the health care delivery system as a whole?​

PATIENT DISEASE STATUS-

Usually if there is less trauma to the body and involes the less duration of care ,

In that scenerio one day care is enough rather than inpatient services.

TYPE OF ANESTHESIA-

Few surgeries are done on Local anesthesia rather than general anesthesia,in that stages Ambulatory services are prefered .

If few risks only noted in local anesthesia compared to general anesthesia.

RESIDE IN SEVERITY OF DISEASE-

Initially the disease may be severe but after when the condition became normal,when it comes to our control we can prefer to ambulatory care.

INDIVIDUAL NEEDS-

Some people wants to make get treated on ambulatory service only ,as they want to come daily from home,due to phobias assosciated with the hospital.

HEALTH MANAGEMENT-

Due to less availabilty of beds ,hospital management shifts the patients to inpatient to outpatient to use hospital resources in balance mode

FINANCIAL BURDEN-

As some patients are at the end stage of life ,in hope less situation and top of thatfamily is under financial crisis.They prefer for outpatient services to manage financial burden.

DURING TRIAGE-

In case of Triage condition patients are shifted from inpatient as a rule of protocol to give effective services to all.

ECONOMICAL DEMAND-

Some individuals have to work for dailybasis/contract basis/bond to get bread for their family,in that scenerios they prefer ambulatory services to feed rather in inpatient services.

As inpatient affects their bond/contract they prefer observation on outpatient by sparing some time rather than giving whole time as in Inpatient.
