Answer #3

K2SO4 ------------------> 2K+ + SO4^2-

So to write the total ionic equation expand out all the (aq) compounds

1)
molecular equation
K2SO4(aq) + CaI2(aq) --------> CaSO4 (s) + 2KI (aq)

total ionic equation

2K+(aq) + SO4^2-(aq) + Ca2+(aq) + 2I-(aq) ------> CaSO4(s) + 2K+(aq) + 2I-(aq)

now, you can see that there are 2I-(aq) and 2K+(aq) on each side of the eqation. They have not changed at all, either their charge or their state (s,l,g,aq). These are the spectator ion, they do not participate in the reaction. So they are left ot of the total ionic eqation

SO4^2-(aq) + Ca2+(aq) -------> CaSO4(s)
