Answer: The two ways to reduce the irritation due to nasal cannula are:

  • Reduce the friction of the tube on the cheeks by slight loosing the tube.
  • Use a fabric of the medical tape to place behind the ears or near the cheeks to reduce the pressure. This will decrease the irritation.
