Answer #1

a)

capacitance, C = epsilon _ not * A / d = 8.85*10^-12 * 0.4 / (0.1*10^-3)

C = 3.54*10^-8

charge, Q = CV

Q = 3.54*10^-8* 12

Q = 4.248*10^-7 C

=========

b)

C = epsilon_not * A / d

17.3*10^-12 = 8.85*10^-12* A / (0.05*10^-3)

A = 9.77 *10^-5 m^2

=========

C = 8.85*10^-12* 0.001 / (0.5*10^-3)

C = 1.77* 10^-11 F

Q = CV = 12 *1.77*10^-11

Q = 2.124*10^-10 C

=========
