Answer Date: 22/01/2019 To test the hypothesis is that the proportion of American fathers takes no responsibility for child care is higher than 34% at 5% level of significance. The null and alternative hypothesis is, H p 0.34 The answer is D The value of test statistics is, p-p p(1- p) 96/234 0.34 0.34(1 0.34) 234 2.27The value of test statistics is 2.27 Thez-critical value is, From the standard normal table, the z-critical value for right-tailed at 95% confidence is 1.645 Thez-critical value is 1.645 Decision The z-test statistics which is 2.27 corresponds to sample statistics is falls in the critical region which is 1.645, so the null hypothesis is rejected at 5% level ofsignificance. There is sufficient evidence to indicate that the proportion of American fathers takes no responsibility for child care is higher than 34%. The result is statistically significant. There is enough evidence to support the claim The answeris AThere is enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis. The answer is E
