A manager is a person, whose job is to manage something , such as a business, company, restaurant or a sports team etc. A manager has a great role in changing the employees' negative attitude towards job, company or to others. Because negative attitude of employees leads to the poor performance of employees, low morale and poor working environment and to less productivity. Even retaining the employees also difficult in such departments.

Steps to change negative attitudes of employees

*Manager has to be a role model for employees;: He has to;

- Be appreciative ( manager has to appreciate the employees for their performance)

- Encourage , acknowledge, praise the employees for their good attitudes or achievements

- support the employees, who are going through tough times in the work place or at home. Can arrange a counselling session for such employees.

* Communication skill of manager. ( manager has to communicate effectively with the subordinates about the changes, new policies and regulations and their planning etc. This will help to change the negative attitudes of employees )

* Warn or remove the trouble makers among employees

Do give warning to the employee, who is having the habit of gossiping or speaking negative things about the company and the management. Express clearly the standards and the expectations by the company in employees.

* Document the employees low morale or any such incident and the actions taken against such employees .

* Good working environment( neat and tidy office room with good and well maintained equipments) will help to improve the attitude of employees.

* Speak openly and spend time with employees

Spending time with the subordinates and listening to their concerns and openly speaking with them will really help a manager to create a positive work environment. Some time speaking privately also needed on some cases

* Brain storming sessions can help the employees to express their ideas and it make them feel that they are also involved in decision making.
