Mrs. Green is a client of your agency. She has been diagnosed with multi-infarct (vascular) dementia. She has been assessed to be in the first stage and is only mildly forgetful the majority of the time. She is most comfortable when she gets the answers she needs, although she may forget them in a short period of time. Today she asks you, "Have you seen my daughter? I haven't seen her in a very long time." You know that Mrs. Green's daughter visits on a regular basis but you are unsure as to when she was last in.

1) dementia.
Dementia mainly affects daily functioning of people. It result in decline of language problem solving memory and once judgement. It is mostly seen in elderly people but it is not normally a part of aging.
2)Multi infarct dementia.
It is also type of vascular dementia.It mainly results from brain damage due to multiple strokes.Those which are in risk of developing this is people suffering from obesity and diabetes. Multi Infra dementia causes memory loss in elders caused by multiple strokes which disrupt the blood flow which leads to brain tissue damage.
3) As multi infarct dementia causes persons to become confused and having short term memory, losing bladder or bowel control and they are usually have difficulty following instructions.As she is in first stage and she is also comfortable most of the time.And there is no information as she is working she may not have danger.But her safety may interfere because she may forget to take medication or nutrition which causes problems.
4).First one should always listen to what others are saying.You should respond by listening to her and explaining that her daughter always visits her on regular basis.But I didn't saw her when she is last here and explain the reason why you are not there when she came to visit.And assure her that you will know whereabouts of her daughter and will help mrs green to contact with her daughter.All should be said in gentle manner and should be explained in a way where Mrs green understands.
