Breathing Problems
Using correct medical terminology, document this case:
Mabel Bishop is 73 years old and has been a long-time smoker with a history of a collapsed right lung and difficulty breathing. The only position she finds comfortable for breathing is sitting upright. She has come to the office today complaining of blood when she coughs; stabbing pain when she breaths, especially on the right side; and excessive drainage. There is swelling in both legs. The doctor listens to her lungs and hears a popping and rumbling sound in the right and left lower lobes.
Once you have documented with the correct medical terminology, what type of testing does this patient need?
