As per the current situation, the exhibitors need to increase the appeal of the theatre setting so as to attract the people given the dynamic nature of the industry. More and more innovative ideas need to be figured out so as to capture the market share. As mentioned, the most recent initiative of 3D failed due to certain reasons which should be carefully analysed so as to improve in the next product release. The strategic actions that should be taken are as mentioned below: The organization committee should analyse al the internal resources available, capabilities, and core competencies. A SWOT analysis should be prepared so as to analyse the strengths, weakness and opportunities available in the industry. This would help in generating new leads and retaining the existing customers . Technology has been advancing in order to help the exhibitors improve upon their performance. Also, new techniques should be explored for betterment. A good use pf internet, strategizing the business, and advanced floor planning (creating a layout) would also be helpful. Proper integration of systems would also help Exhibitors in improving the theatre performance. Each theatre should determine its own strategy. For example, megaplex or multiplex can combine the product development and market for the existing business. Once, this proves to be in favour, it can be expanded. Current target market should be determined and segmented. Discounts can be offered to attract the customers like deals in movie tickets. This should not be treated as a seasonal business only. Even, during the non-peak hours, utilization of resources can lead to generating profits by the low-cost ideas.
