Hypertensive chronic kidney disease has the coding I12-I13. In this case the hypertension causes the chronic kidney disease.

Further in case of the CKD as per the recommendation there should be assessment of the hypertension present or not then this is known as hypertension CKD. Hence both the cases are having the different pattern of development of the CKD as well as the hypertension as well as the correlation.
