Our drug overdose rate is also the highest in the state so of course that would be a good project. I'm not sure what you all think about having Narcan available in kits for drug users but that is one intervention that has been implemented in a neighboring county! What are your thoughts about providing clean needles to addicts, which was the project chosen by a student in one of my prior classes?

There is a statistics reporting 21 million Americans have some sort of addiction .The mortality rate due to this addiction has grown up about three times.This makes the government to spend about $600million to treat them .In order to save the lives of the addicted this Narcan kit can be very useful as an first aid or as an emergency drug. In 38 states there are laws in getting this kit available for the addicts.It is mostly covered under insurance.

The transmission of infectious disease is possible in one of the way by using contaminated needles.Providing clean needles can greatly decrease the rate of infection because of unclean needles. This is an good welcome act in order to save lives and prevent unnecessary medical expenditure.
