How do you think a course in Managerial Economics will help you in your career as a manager?
A course on managerial economics will help you take decisions from a quantitative perspective, i.e. it will help you evaluate your choices quantitatively, you will be able to assign costs and benefits to various situations and make judgements looking at how they compare for various alternatives.
The course will also equip you with ideas such as NPV, IRR, Replacement Rate etc, which help us decide on feasibility of projects and make comparisons between those projects.
I don't have the handout but the course may also cover areas such as Market structure and its analysis (such as Monopoly, Oligopoly etc), production theory, pricing , demand analysis etc.
In my opinion, it will be an interesting course, and it will help you rationalise/ understand the monetary aspect behind a lot of situations that we come across in our daily lives.
