a):- Solid to Liquid - the attractive force in solids is much higher than liquid on changing from solid to liquid attractive force decreases .

Liquid to Gas - the attractive force in liquid is weak, on changing from liquid to gas the attractive force become weakest or negligible in case of gases .

b):- strongest attractive force - Eicosane has strong attractive force because it is solid in nature which shows the strong intermolecular forces of attraction.

Weakest attractive force - methane has weakest attractive force because it is a gas .

C) :- Methane has no intermolecular force of attraction at all because it is a gas in nature.

Octane has weak intermolecular forces of attraction because it is a liquid in nature .

Eicosane has strong intermolecular forces of attraction because it is a solid in nature.

* the size of a molecule influences the strength of intermolecular attractions if a molecule has a small size then in has lower force of attraction between the molecules and if a molecule has a very big size then it shows very strong force of attraction between the molecules which shown in solids .
