This reaction is 1,3dipolar addition to an double bond. The negative pole of the 1,3 dipolar attack the positive end of the double bond. In the double bond two electron withdrawing group makes it dipolar. The -CH group is positively charged which is stablised by phenyl ring. So N^{​​​​​​-}​​​​​ attack the -CH group and addition is take place.
