Absorption Costing :-

Under absorption costing, all the production costs are taken into account when calculating the product cost and all other costs are treated as period costs

Unit product cost = Direct materials per unit + Direct Labor per unit + Variable Manufacturing Overhead per unit + Fixed manufacturing overhead per unit

Variable costing :-

Under variable costing, only variable production costs are considered.

Unit product cost = Direct Materials per unit + Direct Labor per unit + Variable Manufacturing Overhead cost per y
