Technology has entered into nursing field and has resulted in tremendous changes within the field improving patient care. Informatics is one area where nurses are currently using informatics. Nurses need to certain competencies associated with certain technologies. This will require proficiency using certain related technologies and intellectual tools. The ability to collect outcome data for documentation of the nursing contribution to patient care is a challenge for nurses. There are issues of privacy, confidentiality, access and right to know when we begin dealing with digitized health care information. So the nurses must develop skills to overcome issues associated with this. So they should learn ,how to use these tools and use their nursing judgement when they practice. This will help the nurses to deal with the current informatics.

TANIC Assessment helped me in assessing where my merits lay. Before checking my self on TANIC assessment. I thought I was proficient in computer skills. Though I was good at basic computer skills. I still had to go more with advanced skills. By doing TANIC Assessment it made aware how much important is informatics to the current nursing practices and by improving your competencies nurses can definitely escslate quality of health care and improve health outcomes.
