Answer #1

second order kinetics.

After 54 sec,

K2 = x/t*(a)*a0

k2 = ? M-1.sec-1

x = reacted concentration = 0.5-0.3 = 0.2 M

a0 = initial no of concentration of A = 0.5 M

a = concentration after time, t sec = 0.3 M

t = 54 sec

K2 = (0.5-0.3)/(54*(0.3)*(0.5))

K2 = 0.025 M-1.sec-1

after 171 sec,

After 54 sec,

K2 = x/t*(a)*a0

k2 = ? M-1.sec-1

x = reacted concentration = 0.5-0.16 M

a0 = initial no of concentration of A = 0.5 M

a = concentration after time, t sec = 0.16 M

t = 171 sec

K2 = (0.5-0.16)/(171*(0.16)*(0.5))

K2 = 0.025 M-1.sec-1

Hence, it is second order reaction , rate constant(K2) = 0.025 M-1.sec-1

    3. Measuring stand-alone risk using realized (historical) data Returns earned over a given time period are called realized returns. Historical data on realized returns is often used to estimate future results. Analysts across companies use realized stock returns to estimate the risk of a stock. Consider the case of Happy Dog Soap Inc. (HDS): Five years of realized returns for HDS are given in the following table. Remember: 1. While HDS was started 40 years ago, its common stock has...
