What is the function of the connective tissue wrappings found in a nerve? 13. Define mixed nerve 14. Identify all indicated parts of the nerve section Blood vsls levels of the neurotransmitter glutamate have been implicated in this process. which type of neuroglia would play a role in controlling glutamate levels in the chemical enwironment of neurons? 15.+Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a neurodegenerative disease in which motor neurons are progressively destroyed. Excess 16.+Peripheral neuropathy has a variety of causes. Worlkdwide, the most common cause is leprosy, abo known as Harsens disease. ANSWER

11.Endoneurium.

           * It is a layer of connective tissue located around the myelin

sheeth of each myelinated nerve fiber.

    Perineurium.

           * It is located around the fascicles of nerve fibers in a nerve as a

              protective sheeth.

    Epineurium.

           * It located around the pheripheral nerve as a outermost dense

irregular connective tissue and it surrounds blood vessels and nerve

             fascicles that supplying the nerve.

12. Function of connective tissue wrapping in a nerve.

             * It provide protection and support to nerve fibers.

             * It help in conduction of nerve impulses and support

               against changes in body temperature.

13. Mixed nerve.

           * Mixed nerve is a nerve in which contain both sensory and

             motor nerve fibers.

           * So it can do both sensory and motor function.

           * Eg ; Trigeminal, Facial, Glossopharyngeal, occulomotor etc.

14. Indicated parts of nerve section.

              Answers in descending order

                        1, Axon.

                        2, Myelin sheeth.

                        3, Endoneurium.

                        4, Perineurium.

                        5, Epineurium.

                        6, Fascicle.

                        7, Blood vessels.

15. Astrocytes is a type of macroglial cells play a role in controlling

glutamate level in the chemical environment of neurons.

16. Pheripheral neuropathy cause damages to tracts or nerves.

     * Pheripheral neuropathy affect extremities and it result in numbness

burning, tingling sensations if the patient with this condition not get

proper treatment it leads to loss of nerve function and tissue death.
