Ans:
1) When need goes vertically, a surface area of needle become smaller so water let it go straight down, but when put it horizontally, a surface area of needle become larger so water molecule doesn't let it break the surface tension.
2) Horizontal placement, Because of the large surface area to hold up the needle.
3) My estimation was way off from what it actually took to break the surface tension and cause the water to spill over. (exactly I don't know your paper clip experiment result that's why I can't say more on this part)
4) Adhesive part - Water tried to cover a surface of a coin.
Cohesive part - Waterdrops creating a dome on the surface of a coin and spilled off when bonds could no longer hold.

Would the disaccharide (formed in the experiment described above
dissolve in water? Only Question 3 needs answering
3-Would the disaccharide (formed in the experiment described above dissolve in water? Explain (2pt) Answer all parts. Type or write your answers. You will need to draw molecules and reactions. I suggest that. You write your answers on a sheet of paper and then take a photo. Load the picture into a document and submit the document. 1. Amino acid experiment < U...

In this experiment you will be measuring pH for several
different solutions. A pH probe will be used rather than pH paper
as it will be more accurate.
You will be testing the pH of six solutions: deionized water,
0.1 M HCl, 0.1 M HCH3COO, 0.1 M NaCH3COO, 0.1
M NaOH, and a buffer made by mixing equal parts of
HCH3COO and NaCH3COO.
You will measure the pH of each solution three times:
Neat - just the solution
After the...
