Answer #1

Calculation of life years gained,

20,000 new borns will be benefited and each life is increased by 0.2 years (75.3 - 75.1), therefore life years gained = 20,000 x 0.2 = 4,000 life years will be gained.

Calculation of cost per life year,

4,000 life years will cost 6 million which means every life year will cost 6 million ÷ 4,000 years = 1,500 per life cycle.

Thinking ethically it is always beneficial to start the program, this is a social program where we should not think about the cost.
