Hi

Alcohol USP is 95% alcohol with 5 % water.

1gram of drug R dissolves in 10 mL of alcohol.

so for alcohol USP it should be 1 gram of Drug R in 10ml of alcohol USP with water.

So for 5% of drug R should be dissolved in 50 ml of alcohol with little water 2.5 ml. so totally rounded off to 53 ml
