Answer #1

DI for SONAR = 10 log (2L/\lambda) dB

Where L = Length of array , \lambda = wavelength

Directivity Index of an array varies as a function of wavelength of incident sound(hence speed of sound in water) , Layout and physical dimensions of the array. Measurement of the directivity index is required in order to obtain the efficiency of a transducer.

Hence option (D) is the correct answer.
