Answer #1

21. Describe and analyze the status of the diseases based on the incidence and prevalence data?

  • Incidence is the rate of new cases and prevalence is the number of cases present during a specific period of time.
  • From this table, it clearly shows, that the incidence rate highest in epilepsy during the course of 12.2 years.
  • The highest prevalence rate is the Central nervous system with an average rate of 4.33 per100,000 population per year.
  • Both the incidence rate and prevalence rate are seen mostly in Parkinson's disease.
  • The least incidence and prevalence rate are seen in motor neuron disorders.

How can the members of the interprofessional team best help this population? Be sure to address providers and the epidemiologist.

  • Epidemiologists should investigate the outbreak of disease.
  • Public health surveillance should investigate, analyze, collect, and interpret the data.
  • Public health workers should identify risk factors.
  • The researcher must involve in the field investigation.
  • Epidemiologists should work in the development of health care policy.
  • Physicians and nurses should screen the patient for early identification of disease.
  • Local government should make aware of the new disease outbreak and control of the disease.
  • Health professionals should encourage the population for precautions such as vaccines, good hygiene and sanitation.
