In given case we are considering afghanistan ( as developing nation) .
Resource gap analysis means to identify how well resources are used to meet the targets.
In our example ,Afghanistan is rich in natural resource like crude , petroleum , coal , zinc , iron ore .
Basically these resources are used to export to increase income and to make / increase foriegn reserves balance
Afghanistan imports food, textiles and capital machinery but still there are enough exports to maintain foriegn reserve balance and its GDp also increasing every year after adding of production of opium products.
