Answer #1

Disaster preparedness is the interventions done before the disaster to reduce the effect of the disaster and help in saving lives .It involves forcasting and taking precautionary measures before a disaster is stuck .As a nurse the most appropriate intervention which she can do is to organize a mass casualty drill for community members because this exercise will help the communitymembers understand how they are suppose to act in case of a disaster to save lives and minimize the loss of property and enviorment .The nurse will have to formulate a mass casualty management plan before she organized a drill .the plan should clearly state the objective of the plan ,the responsible members involves the health care organizations involved ,a laid down framework about transportation of casualties,It should also consist of the available resources like vehicles, first aid kits, human resource before the drill .A drill will help us to inculcate an awareness in members of the community and it will help all the members to work together in unity .in disaster the first responder is the local population so the awareness of the local community is very essential.

The remaining three options like assisting in biological agent will only help us to address biological disaster but disaster can be natural or man-made . functioning as a. Manger for temporary shelter can be done after the disaster in the relief camps it cannot be a part of preparedness.and the last option planing a disaster triage in the hospital can be done by the hospital itself
