She shares that he sometimes answers questions inappropriately or asks people to speak louder, and she noticed that his television is always loud. Answer: Some of the common hearing disorders that the patient might have are:

• Ringing of ears: This is common in the old age where patient may feel the sounds within himself.
• Sudden hearing loss: It occurs in old age patient where sudden hearing loss occurs and patient becomes deaf.
• Presbycusis : It is age related hearing disorder where patient unable to listen clearly or hear things loudly.

Nursing intervention for patients with hearing disorder are:

• Nursing diagnosis: Patient is unable to hear clearly or hear at a very high volume.
• Desired outcome: Patient can easily understand desired demonstration of the gestures and words.

Nursing intervention:

• Nurse should intervene regarding the loss of hearing ability as there is complete or partial hearing loss. ( This will enable the healthcare professionals to understand the level)
• The voice or sound should not be high. ( As it may damage more to the patient.)
• Presence of any other disease( Hearing loss may be due to medication or the adverse effects of it.)
