President Teddy Roosevelt was against the "Bad Trusts" mainly the railroad monopolies. The most powerful railroad monopoly by JP Morgan and his associates was taken down by an antitrust lawsuit. Thus, making JP Morgan an enemy of the trust busting policy agenda.
The Coal Strike of 1902, saw large number of labourers demanding higher wages and short working hours as the work they did was hard, and also hazardous. President Roosevelt implemented pro-labour laws.
Gifford Pinchot under President Roosevelt promoted Conservationism which was concerned with creating a balance between the demand for products manufactured by the logging industry and the conservation of these resources for the upcoming future generations.
Consumer Protection from The Meat-Packing Industries was ensured by two acts, namely, Federal Meat Inspection Act,1906. and Pure Food and Drug Act,1906. These were undertaken to secure the safety and health of the consumers. Also proper information about the products was to be provided so that the consumers can make the best decisions for themselves. Social Welfare and Protection was undertaken under the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt.
