Given:

m = 150 g

C = 4.18 J/g.oC

Ti = 20 oC

Tf = 70 oC

use:

Q = m*C*(Tf-Ti)

Q = 150.0*4.18*(70.0-20.0)

Q = 31350 J

Given:

lambda = 10.8 cm = 0.108 m

1st calculate energy of 1 photon

use:

E = h*c/lambda

=(6.626*10^-34 J.s)*(3.0*10^8 m/s)/(0.108 m)

= 1.841*10^-24 J

number of photon = total energy/energy of 1 photon

n = 31350.0/1.841*10^-24

= 1.703*10^28

Answer: 1.70*10^28 photons
