Please draw a potential structure based on the [M], IR, H NMR, and C NMR
Hi Dear Friend, the unknown is Butyrophenone (IUPAC: 1-phenylbutan-1-one, M.F: C10H12O)
Mass: M+ (Molecular ion) at m/z 148, base peak is found at m/z 105
IR:
3062 cm-1, medium is due to aromatic sp2 =C-H stretch
2964 & 2934 cm-1, strong are due to sp3 alkane C-H stretch
1687 cm-1, strong is due to aryl ketone C=O stretch
1449 cm-1, medium is due to sp3 alkane C-H bending
1214 cm-1, strong is due to C-O stretch during resonance of C=O group
HNMR & CNMR:
Hope this helped you!
