By the blowing of air by the hair dryer we are giving hot air towards the ice cream that means we are giving the thermal energy towards the ice cream through the air. In this process, the air molecules transfer the heat energy through the process called Convection and then the heat energy or thermal energy will transfer through the ice particles (solid form of water) in the ice cream due to convection process. When the temperature of the ice cram reaches to its melting point immediately it starts to melt. Therefore, here the main heat transfer process is convection.
