- Maintain airway
- Intubate, crich, trach, etc!!!
- Counteract the effects of anaphylaxis.

6.Teens brains are still developing and can easily become dependent on drugs and using drugs will interfer with the developing brain.

- Abusing prescription pain medications interfere with a person's ability to breathe by slow's breathing down that could lead to a COMA or DEATH.

- Prescription stimulants can cause anxiety and hostility when abused.

- Area of the brain wherewprescription stimulants affect is Amygdala which controls FEAR AND EMOTIONS.

- So it is necessary for it to handle the teen by not abusing with prescription of pain medication.

- The role of the nurse includes teaching the patient about pain, scheduling medications in relation to the individual's needs and using nonpharmacological pain relief methods.

  • Explain purpose
  • Show the scale
  • Emphasize patient's role to volunteer info
  • Explain the specific scale; verify understanding
  • Discussion "definition "of pain
  • Verify understanding with examples of past pain
  • Ask patient to practice
