Answer #1

Answer 1):-The chemical which is added to increase the rate of a reaction is called "Catalyst".

A catalyst provide an alternative path for the reaction with a lower energy barrier. Due to lowering of energy barrier, a larger number of molecules of reactants are able to cross it. As a result , the rate of reaction increases.
