Answer #1

5.d. Denial

Denial : This is a stage of grief. In denial stage, the person starts denying the facts(diagnosis or prognosis) and goes deadened. Here Sarah also refuses or deny the fact that she is having breast cancer.

Anger: In this stage, the person shows anger by blaming others or even God if he is a believer, and express his anger to close friends and family and starts questioning God.

Bargaining: In this stage the person want to go back in time and bargains with God  and self with 'if' statements like "if you heal me God,i will serve you" or "if i had a healthy balanced diet, this would not have happened to me".

Depression: Here grief moves to a more deep level, and the person starts departing from life, feel empty, and like to be lonely and experience hopelessness. Suicidal thoughts may come during this stage.

Acceptance: In this last stage of grief, emotions balance and the person accepts the facts happened in their life.

6. c. Encourage the patient to use community and health care resources to help ease the change process.

In denial stage, the person neglect what is done to them.So therapeutic communication techniques and working for patient's request will not work out.Providing community resources helps the patient to go through the situation.
